Welcome to L Section
Paradise surrounded by nature and nestled in the jungle
There is no better escape from the hustle and bustle of any city than being surrounded by lush, green jungle and the howler monkeys of Costa Rica. This section of our community is home to our local Montessori school Del Mar Academy, and many properties border the environmental preserves run by the Nosara Civic Association. This section of our community has been home to many of our long-term residents and those looking for a more laid-back way of life outside of our prime vacation rental community.
Nosara used to be a hidden gem known only to a select group of avid surfers and yogis, but over the years, this gorgeous swath of sand and jungle has exploded into a prime real estate opportunity. The L Section of Nosara caters more to families than some of the other neighborhoods, and the result is a close-knit community with great access to education and ecological marvels like the Marcel Schroder Jungle Hiking Trail and a fantastic family hike here in the community.
Due to the reputation and success of the local school as well as the quiet, residential nature of the area, this has become a prime location for longtime residents, investors, and renters. People who move here tend to want convenient access to the school and more spacious land than what is generally found in the beachfront sections of the Nosara real estate community.
People who come to the L Section fall in love with the tranquility and access to our local preserved land hiking trails. This is an up-and-coming area primed for future investment, and it couldn’t be a better time to get in early.

- More long-term and permanent residents; a close-knit family community
People and Lifestyle
Families are more apt to buy in the L Section due to the expansive properties and proximity to Del Mar Academy, so this area is mostly populated by long-term residents versus vacationers and seasonal residents. People are friendly, hospitable, and close-knit — the kids all know each other and there’s a great sense of community pride. Many residents of L Section remain avid surfers, yogis, and all-around active people — they love heading to the beach or taking a weekend hike in the local nature preserve.
Things To Do
There is no shortage of wonderful things to fill your mind, body, and soul in Nosara. Nosara is known for its immersive and holistic yoga experience and Bodhi Tree is one of the best yoga resorts in the area.
Surfing will always be Nosara’s favorite pastime, and residents of the L Section have plenty of beach access at Playa Guiones.
The Marcel Schroder Local Preserve has well-maintained hiking trails and offers sweeping views of Nosara, while the Nosara Biological Reserve is home to over 270 species of birds, with hiking trails that weave through wetlands and tropical dry forest along the Nosara River. The two-hour hike is best done early in the morning or at dusk when the wildlife watching is best.
Schools
Children in L Section typically attend Del Mar Academy, a Montessori School with International Accreditation that takes kids from Pre-K to 8th grade. Families move to this area specifically for proximity to this school and its fantastic reputation.
Another private school option for children Pre-K through 6th grade in the Nosara Highlands is Academy del Sol.
